About

ABOUT ME

I enjoy challenging myself academically, particularly in math, English, history, and geography. I am currently self-studying Singapore Math and AoPS Mathematics and have participated in Johns Hopkins University’s CTY online programs for gifted students, ranking in the 99th percentile globally.

Hockey is my favorite sport. I play center and wing and train on the ice and study film daily. Since September, I have scored 43 goals and added 30 assists in 54 games.

I also love reading and writing. I founded my school’s “100 Book Club,” where I lead weekly discussions and organize reading challenges. I placed third in the 2025 YCC Creative Writing Contest and most recently received a Bronze Prize in the 2025 Cosmopolitan Writing Award for Poetry, as well as a High Merit Award in the creative communication Fall 2025 Writing Contest.

In addition, I enjoy chess and video editing, as both allow me to combine strategy and creativity. I care deeply about helping others and previously volunteered to take notes for a classmate with a heart condition, an experience that taught me the importance of empathy and compassion.

A Rising Hockey Star

2 hours of hockey practice, rain or shine, everyday for the past 5 years! Hard work is my ultimate advantage.

Founder and President of the "100 BOOK Challenge" Book Club

I founded 100 BOOK Challenge book club at my school. The goal is to motivate my classmmates to read more and build a community of book lovers. We’ve already grown to 6 members, all supporting one another on the journey to 100 books! We even use creative games such as Book Bingo and Book Speed Dating to make our club activities engaging and fun!

Started with a challenge to myself: I want to read 100 books by end of the middle school! In 2024, I read 80 books and I read 42 booksin 2025. I felt so accomplished and each book brought me into a different journey. I want to share the joy of reading with my peers. Not just to hit a number goal, but to expereince the joy of learning through reading. More importantly, build friendships by discussing the books we read together.

I love reading. It’s how I learn, unwind, and spend quiet time with myself. I started with comic books as a kid, then moved on to novels, history, and science fiction—whatever caught my interest at the time. Over time, I developed the habit of keeping notes on the books I’ve read. They may not be perfectly organized, but they capture my journey as a reader and how my thinking has grown. I hope books continue to accompany me, marking each stage of my life.
